Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal information Legacy Carts collects, why we collect it, who else can see it, and how you can ask us to remove it. It covers this website, our online booking forms, and the phone calls, texts and emails we exchange with customers. If anything here is unclear, call us at (970) 561-7690 or email Logan@legacycarts.com.

Legacy Carts LLC is responsible for the personal information described in this policy.

What we collect

We only collect what we need in order to sell, register and service golf carts and low-speed vehicles. Depending on how you contact us, that can include:

Information you give us

  • Your name — first and last name.
  • Your contact details — mobile or home phone number and email address.
  • Your address — when it is needed for registration paperwork, or when it is different from the address on your driver’s license.
  • Names for a registration — the full legal name of every person who will be listed on a low-speed vehicle registration, and whether the cart was financed or paid in full.
  • Details about your cart — year, brand, model, any error codes it is showing, and a description of the problem you want us to look at.
  • Photographs — you may optionally attach a photo of your cart or the problem when you book a service appointment. This is never required.
  • Anything else you choose to tell us in a form, an email, a text or a phone call.

Information collected automatically

When you visit this website, some basic technical information is recorded automatically: your device’s internet address (IP address) and the general region it suggests you are in; the type of device, browser and operating system you are using; which pages you visited, when, and how long you stayed; and the website or search that sent you here. This does not tell us your name.

What we do not collect through this website

We never ask you to upload a driver’s license or any identity document through this website. When a registration appointment requires your license, you bring it with you and hand it to a sales representative in person at our store.

We never see or store your full card number. Card payments are handled directly by our payment processor, Stripe. Legacy Carts receives only a confirmation that a payment succeeded, along with the amount and the last few digits of the card.

Where it comes from
  • The booking forms on this website — Schedule Service and Schedule LSV Paperwork.
  • The quote, contact and financing forms on this website.
  • Phone calls, text messages and emails between you and Legacy Carts.
  • Visits to our Windsor or Grand Junction locations.

We do not buy customer lists, and we do not collect information about you from data brokers.

Why we collect it
  • To book and run your appointment — reserve your place, confirm the details, send you reminders, and tell you when your cart is ready.
  • To do the work you asked for — diagnose and repair your cart, and prepare the correct registration paperwork before you arrive.
  • To take payment — including the $65 non-refundable reservation fee for service appointments.
  • To answer your questions about inventory, pricing, financing or warranty.
  • To keep a service history, so the next time you come in we know what has already been done to your cart.
  • To meet our legal and tax obligations, including vehicle registration requirements and record-keeping rules.
Who else can see it

We share personal information only with the companies that help us run the business, and only as much as they need to do their part. Those are:

  • Our booking and customer-record platform, which stores your contact record, your appointments and the messages we send you.
  • Stripe, our payment processor, which handles card payments.
  • Our email and text-message providers, which deliver your confirmations and reminders.
  • Google Analytics, which reports how this website is used.
  • Government agencies, where vehicle registration or the law requires it.
  • Our professional advisors, such as our accountant, where necessary.

We may also have to share information in two other situations. If the law requires it — for example a court order, or a valid request from a government agency. We may also share information if we genuinely believe it is needed to protect someone’s safety, to prevent fraud, or to defend our legal rights. If the business is ever sold — if Legacy Carts is sold, merged or transferred to new owners, customer records would go with it. We would let you know before that happened, and the new owner would be bound by this policy until they told you otherwise.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not rent or trade it. We do not share it with anyone for their own marketing, and we do not share it with advertising networks or data brokers.

Text messages and your mobile number

If you give us your mobile number when you book an appointment or contact us, you may receive text messages from Legacy Carts about that appointment — booking confirmations, reminders, updates on your cart, and replies to questions you have asked us.

Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.

You can stop these messages at any time by replying STOP to any text we send you. Reply HELP for help, or call us at (970) 561-7690. Opting out of texts does not cancel your appointment — we will contact you by phone or email instead.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Information sharing with the vendors listed above is only to support the service you asked for — for example, to actually deliver the text message to your phone. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are never shared with any third party.

Agreeing to appointment text messages is not agreeing to marketing. Consent to receive appointment and service messages is separate from any consent to receive promotions or advertising, and giving us your number is never a condition of buying anything from us. If we ever want to send you promotional messages, we will ask you separately first.

How long we keep it

We keep your information for as long as you are a Legacy Carts customer, so that your service history stays useful to you and to us. After that we keep it for seven years, which allows us to meet tax, warranty and vehicle-registration record-keeping requirements. After that period we delete it or remove anything that identifies you.

You can ask us to delete your information sooner — see the next section.

Your choices, and how to have your information removed

You can ask us to tell you what personal information we hold about you, correct anything that is wrong, delete your information, or stop contacting you by text, email or both.

To make any of these requests, email Logan@legacycarts.com or call (970) 561-7690. We will respond within 30 days.

Some information we may have to keep even after a deletion request — for example a paid invoice or a completed vehicle registration — because tax and registration rules require it. If that applies, we will tell you what we kept and why.

You can unsubscribe from any email we send using the unsubscribe link at the bottom of it, and stop text messages by replying STOP.

Cookies and website analytics

This website uses cookies — small files saved in your browser — for two reasons. To keep the site working: these remember things like the carts you have added to the Compare list, so the site behaves the way you expect as you move between pages. To understand how the site is used: we use Google Analytics for this. It tells us things like which pages are visited most and roughly which region visitors come from. It does not tell us your name.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Parts of the site may not work normally if you do. You can also opt out of Google Analytics using Google’s browser add-on.

Keeping your information safe

We use reputable service providers, limit access to customer records to the people who need it, and protect our accounts with passwords and, where available, two-step verification. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot promise absolute security — but we take it seriously, and if a breach ever affected your information we would tell you as required by law.

Children

This website is meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us their information, contact us and we will delete it.

Links to other websites

Some pages link to other companies — for example our financing application, which is operated by DLL Group. Once you leave this website, that company’s privacy policy applies, not ours. We are not responsible for how they handle your information.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle personal information, we will update this page and change the “last updated” date at the top. Please check back from time to time.
